Surprise! No slip, we had to tie up at the fuel dock. Price of fuel was good. Office lady nice and gave us good restaurant rec. But, pretty bummed about slip situation.

Sunshine was great assisting me with my late registration and was able to confirm once the credit card went through.

Very accommodating. Allowed us to stay on fuel dock. We could easily leave in the morning.

Accommodating & helpful staff! Excellent facilities. We spent 2 great nights there. I can’t believe they’re being forced to close. Progress is often questionable!!

Awesome marina, friendly and helpful staff, great amenities A+

Unlike previous stays service was off. Dockhand was by herself trying to handle lines, do the fiddling of another vessel, help me with power and water. It took over an hour to get settled. Not the individuals fault just understaffed. Then when departing. No one answering the radio, no one around. Very different from all prior experiences

The marina has recognized the issue with a transient taking our slip and causing some inconvenience for us and credited us 50% which was much appreciated.
Marina Response:
Hi Brian, after reviewing our camera footage, we discovered that the random vessel named the "Lady Di" was docked without permission and essentially stole your transient dock space and left without even paying himself. We would not have known someone was going to dock there after we closed. As far as we can tell, there was no attempt to call our emergency number or message us through Dockwa on your part. As a gesture of goodwill, we are giving you 50% off your stay anyway. Please consider changing your review, as this was simply a misunderstanding that had we known we would have attempted (even after-hours) to correct.

Excellent .all worked out . Friendly and helpful staff . The only issue is when they allow someone to come in after hours , they should remind them to pick an edge and not park in the middle of the fuel dock unless they are leaving before the fuel dock opens the next morning . It was my fault of not taking care of business when I arrived and waiting until the next morning .

Friendly docking help. Nice floating fuel dock. 50 amp power pedestal breaker is loose and difficult to cycle.
Marina Response:
Bryan, we apologize that you experienced shore power issues! Cape Marina works tirelessly to provide excellent services and we work diligently to effect repairs on any power problems. We appreciate your business and wish you safe travels!

The entire facility is excellent along with the staff. The idea that this harbor lease should be sold off to commercial fishing companies is rediculous.

Older docks but nice facility. Clean and friendly staff.

Nice marina with good facilities. Helpful staff. This was a good stop over on the way south. We were able to catch a spacex launch. Bonus.

Nice facility. Nice people, professionally run. Clean power, clean restrooms and laundry. It will be a shame to see this place go (city pulling the lease)

Staff is always nice and I love the marina. The pool is awesome and the ship store has a lot of convenient boat parts and gifts!

Good stay. Somewhat inexperienced dock hands that did not really know what to do. Other than that, friendly office staff and decent fuel price.

This was by far the worst marina I've ever stayed at from New York to the Keys. Over 15 years of tournament fishing I've never been more disappointed in a marina. To start with, a friend that has a boat almost the same size as mine was charged $113 a day but I got charged @175 a day. Two feet in length difference. When asking the dockmaster Alex why the big price difference, I was told it called dynamic pricing. Because of the tournament going on and the shortage of slips then could charge more money. To me, that's price gouging. Also, if you are the preferred marina for the tournament, you would think that all tournament boats would be charged the same rate by the foot and even maybe a discount. Second, we want a floating dock since we were in a low center console. The dock we had was so high up you had to climb down a ladder to get into the boat. No way could you go from the dock to the boat. Third, we had to go to another marina to get ice one day. Somebody dropped the ball on ordering ice. We pulled our boat out of the water to refuel rather then spend another dime with them. The port itself was nice and close to where we fished, but I'd rather run 10-20 miles north or south than stay here. Boater beware.
Marina Response:
Your review contains several statements that are not accurate, and because you publicly accused Cape Marina of “price gouging,” it is necessary to correct the record immediately. “Price gouging” is a serious allegation that implies unethical or illegal conduct, and making such a claim without understanding the facts is defamatory. Cape Marina uses a dynamic pricing structure that works in conjunction with the Dockwa reservation system, and the fundamentals of this structure are straightforward. Pricing is tied directly to basic supply and demand, which is one of the most widely understood concepts in any business that manages limited inventory. Our transient rate sheets state this clearly: “PRICES VARY BASED ON DEMAND LEVELS. HIGHER ON PEAK DAYS AND HOLIDAYS. BOOKING RATES AVAILABLE ONLINE.” This operates in the same manner as hotels and airlines, where prices rise as availability decreases and demand increases. You booked on October 30, 2025, only two weeks before your arrival, while the majority of tournament participants booked four to six weeks earlier during lower demand periods. By the time you booked, most of the desirable inventory had been taken and the published rate reflected that high demand. This is not hidden, uncommon, or unfair. It is exactly how demand based pricing works, and your accusation of “price gouging” is both factually incorrect and misleading to anyone reading your review. The rate you saw was the exact published rate at the time of your booking. You were not forced to do business with Cape Marina. You reviewed the rate, chose to proceed, submitted your reservation, and accepted the booking voluntarily. Your expectation that all tournament boats should receive identical pricing is not grounded in how any business operates. Cape Marina is a sponsor of the event, but sponsorship does not mean the marina is expected to lose revenue or abandon its published pricing structure. Once we reached full occupancy, your space held real market value, and it is likely that another participant would have paid more for the same spot had it still been available. Our pricing model does not change based on whether a customer is participating in an event. It changes based on demand and booking timing, which is clearly disclosed. The tournament was not a surprise, nor was it scheduled last minute. It was announced well in advance, and responsible participants planned ahead by reserving their slips four to six weeks before the event. Those early reservations secured the best pricing because they were made when demand was lower. You chose to wait until two weeks before arrival, which placed your booking at the peak of demand. Expecting the same pricing as customers who planned weeks earlier is not reasonable and ignores how the published system works. Cape Marina followed its policies exactly as written, and there was no preferential treatment or deviation. Your statements about where your vessel was placed also misrepresent the situation. When someone books late into a sold out tournament weekend, the remaining slip options will naturally reflect what earlier customers did not choose. The marina cannot displace earlier reservations, nor can it expand its physical capacity to accommodate late bookings. You received the best remaining space available at the time your reservation was submitted. This is not a matter of poor service or neglect. It is the predictable outcome of making a reservation after nearly all other participants had already secured their positions. Anyone familiar with how limited capacity environments function understands this principle clearly. Customers who plan ahead receive the most favorable placements, and customers who wait until the final stage of demand receive what remains. Your statements about ice availability are also inaccurate. Cape Marina began the tournament period fully stocked with a substantial quantity of ice and sold extremely large volumes due to the significant surge in traffic and activity in the port. The marina exhausted its stock because consumption levels were far above normal patterns, and from that point forward the marina was dependent on local ice vendors for restocking. These vendors supply several marinas within the port, and during the tournament weekend those marinas served as concentrated points of very heavy usage. Vendor delivery capacity could not keep pace with the combined demand. The issue was not caused by any failure to order ice, nor was it the result of anyone “dropping the ball.” It was the natural outcome of extraordinary consumption combined with the limitations of local suppliers during a busy event period. Characterizing this as a failure by the marina is inaccurate and does not reflect what actually occurred. Public reviews carry weight, and statements that imply wrongdoing must be supported by facts. You are free to share your personal opinions about your experience, but allegations such as “price gouging” require accuracy and context. The pricing you received was the direct result of booking very late into a high demand period. Your placement reflected what was still available after earlier reservations had been confirmed. The ice situation resulted from unprecedented consumption and vendor limitations, not from internal mistakes. Correcting these inaccuracies is necessary so that readers are provided with a factual understanding of your stay and are not misled by claims that do not align with the documented facts.

Stayed on C Float dock just for the night. Beautiful view of the SpaceX launch. Love this stop as we move boat up and down east coast.

No dockhands available to help docking, the only ones working were at the fuel dock. Dockmaster said they were down two employees. There is a flyer at the dockmaster desk announcing a going away party and their valiant effort to get Port Canaveral to renew their lease has failed. As a result, things are not being kept up. Sad to see. We were given a floating dock, but it was very rickety and full of bird poop. The slips are concrete with bow pilings with strapped wood planks. We had stayed 2 previous times at Ocean Club next door, for $.25/ft more ($4.25), I would stay there.

About Cape Marina

Cape Marina is a second and third-generation, family-owned marina located in Port Canaveral. For 50 years, we have operated as a working waterfront facility, serving both recreational and commercial boaters with direct access to the ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway.

We offer 115 four-pole fixed wet slips accommodating vessels from 15 to 65 feet in length. We also provide Floating Dock transient dockage for vessels up to 120 feet and beyond, with 24-hour access and quick departure to open water.

In addition to wet slips, we provide: • Indoor and outdoor dry storage • Seven-day in-and-out rack service • A working DIY yard for owner-performed maintenance and projects

Amenities include: • Clean, modern restrooms and showers • Washers and dryers • Gas and diesel fuel pumps • High-speed diesel fueling

Dockwa is used primarily for Floating Dock reservations. Our four-pole fixed slips are generally for long-term slip customers and are typically not available for transient use, though we make every effort to accommodate requests when space permits or during special events.

Dockage, storage, and service rates are market-based and may vary depending on vessel size, seasonality, demand, occupancy, and operational conditions. All rates are subject to change and are confirmed at the time of booking or agreement. Fuel prices listed are cash prices. The posted diesel fuel price does not include applicable tax.

Cape Marina operates under a ground lease within Port Canaveral. The current lease term is scheduled to expire on July 31, 2026, and the Canaveral Port Authority has indicated it does not intend to renew the lease beyond that date. As a result, our family business is presently expected to conclude on or before that date. Until then, we continue to operate normally and remain committed to serving the boating community.
