I reserved a slip at Belle Island Marina 5/4/2026. After making the reservation I received a message that indicated the water level was shallow and entry may not be possible. I tried canceling several times without a response. When I arrived there (not at low tide) it was too shallow to enter. I’d like my money back but I cant contact anyone to make that happen. I tried several times. I wish the message concerning the shallow water was present when I was making the reservation. I’m disappointed in Dockwa for not handling this in a professional manner.
Marina Response:
Will refund your funds. Sorry for inconvenience.

The Marina is unstaffed and although they tell you to choose any slip that is open many of them don’t have working power posts. The Marina overall is two shallow to be functional. I grounded coming in and had to wait for the tide to rise to get to a dock. The dock had no power. It’s Marina’s best avoided until somebody shows that some love.

Marina is fine BUT pay attention to the tides !!! Really tricky. Can be as low as 2 feet. Very nice owner. Beautiful area. Too bad the restaurant was closed (open Thursday to Sunday).

The marina and the people are great. Restaurant has good food and great staff. You have to plan your boat trips in and out of the Marina at least 2 hours on either side of low tide due to shallow water. Other than that everything was great. I was told they plan to do some more dredging in the near future.

Good but access is tide driven.

Nope. Do not stop here. No one to answer the phone. No direction where to put boat so Bistro staff said to take a slip up front, no power, no water, no fuel (yet stated they have it on Waterway Guide).

Good marina but tough entrance except at high tide. Excellent restaurant on property.

My husband and I, in our small sailboat, took refuge from strong winds at Belle Isle marina. I left a voicemail at the marina and Keith called to welcome us and help with the reservation. He recommended eating at Belle Isle Bistro which we did. Great hot showers and we did our laundry too. Belle Isle was just what we needed! Thank you.
Marina Response:
Thank you for your kind response. We are proud of what we have here. Safe travels !

Belle Isle is a laid-back marina in a great location! The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant offers a cozy setting with a nice view.

A small, friendly marina in a great location. Extremely convenient for ICW & offshore access via Winyah Bay. Manager Rick reached out to me personally. Clean basic shower facility. Kept me safe during Hurricane Helene! Note: shoal spots in entry and marina, easy at higher tides. Cool alligator!

I was told the channel into the marina was narrow (and it is), but the marina has it well marked and I got through with no issues. The marina manager (Rick) was very accommodating, pleasant and helpful when other marinas in Georgetown turned me away because of the approaching Hurricane Debbie. The facility is well cared for, clean and priced right.

Called multiple times before 5 o’clock no one answers the phone in the office. We did arrive Doctor sells looked around for laundry and found out there was no laundry available. We did not require fueled by the fuel is out of service at this time. Nice facility nice people could use some improvements.

We needed a last minute slip and Belle Isle was the perfect stop for us! We had hoped to be a little closer to Georgetown but everything was booked. We were able to Uber into old town and back - get pizza at SoCo. Beautiful area with live oaks. Highly recommend and much thanks to Keith who greeted us and checked on us before departing the next day.

Convenient to ICW and Winyah Bay.

About Belle Isle Marina

Belle Isle Yacht Club is located along the Winyah Bay, just south of Georgetown, South Carolina, named in 2018 by USA TODAY 10 Best poll voters as #1 "Best Coastal Small Town." As you enter this gated community, you immediately become part of a world removed from ordinary distractions. First impressions record an immediate feeling of natural beauty and serenity. Surrounded by almost 640 acres of park-like gardens, woods, and lakes, you’ll find many, many kinds of wildlife.

It sits on a bluff, looking directly across wide and navigable Winyah Bay to miles of shoreline that will never be developed, thousands of acres of pine forest and salt marsh dedicated to marine conservation by Belle Baruch.

Please note, amenities (pools, tennis courts, Yacht Club, Rice Canal Club and Beach House) are for owners and their guests only. However, the Marina Bistro is open to the public Thursday - Sunday’s and has excellent fare to enjoy.

The Marina is unattended however, if you have any questions, please send a message to Dockwa and we will respond ASAP. Please note, you need to consult the Tide Tables for "Frazier Point". You must take care as you enter or exit the marina under current conditions especially with a SW or W wind. Most boats with large drafts will need 2 to 2.5 hrs before or after low tide for access. There is only pluff mud with no hard obstructions on entry or egress. Please plan accordingly.
