Safe Harbor Rockland

Firstly - the staff/team here is amazing! From our arrival, when having difficulty locating the assigned mooring ball, LuLu stayed on the VHF with us guiding us continuously until we finally located the mooring (this was my fault as Rockland had sent a mooring field map and guidance well ahead of time, but after about 9 hours of transit to get there, I was a bit bleary-eyed...). Chris, the dockmaster was terrific and provided great customer service and suggestions, as did the rest of his team! One evening as we were heading back to the mooring in our dinghy the engine quit... One of the staff, Joe, quickly arrived in their inflatable and said "I saw you were having engine trouble so I'm here to give you a tow"! We felt very protected and cared-for by everyone on the team at SH Rockland. The following morning I contacted their service department. They came later that day (I didn't have to be there) removed the engine, took it to their facility, worked on it, called me to update me, and then re-installed the engine on the dinghy, and replaced the fuel in the gerry-can with clean fresh fuel! Thank you to Fred Lemon, and his team, for such customer service oriented and quality work!! The facilities at SH Rockland appear to be very very new - the bathrooms/showers and laundry room are all exceptionally clean, with towels, soap/shampoo, and laundry detergent & softener provided! And they have courtesy cars to borrow so you can provision easily!! All of the Safe Harbors we have been to have been very good, but SH Rockland is a notch-above and hopefully is the standard to which Safe Harbor aspires for all of their marinas as they continue to improve their facilities!

Safe Harbor is the very best marina in Rockland Maine! The amenities are plentiful and the entire facility is beautifully kept! The Dockmaster Chris is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and he has some of the best crew anywhere! Just a great all around experience! Once again! Thank you!

Chris, Lulu, very professional and well trained! We thoroughly enjoyed all the amenities especially the espresso machine! Marina public spaces were immaculate and tidy. We can’t wait to return in 2026!

Great facilities and service. The only downside is that Rockland is not a very protected and calm harbor, not the marina's fault.

Great dock, very helpful dockhands, beautiful location. Easy walk to town. Bathroom facilities are 5 star….better than most fine hotels. Great restaurant on site—-except closed on Sunday.

Safe Harbor Rockland is my top choice in midcoast Maine, offering easy access, spaced mooring. Dockmaster Chris, Lulu, Amelia and crew showed outstanding hospitality—meeting boats, helping with lines, and handling special requests with ease. Amenities are first-class: spotless showers with fresh towels, free laundry, courtesy SUVs, reliable Wi-Fi, espresso machine and fresh drinks, and a quality on-site restaurant. Marine services are all available, and downtown Rockland’s shops and restaurants are a short walk away. A must-stop for five-star service and a friendly welcome.
