Very nice marina with good restaurants and shops. Restrooms and showers are some of the best around. The only thing that made our stay somewhat unpleasant is our boat was sitting in the mud at low tide and we couldn't run the AC during the low tide due to the pick up being under the boat (It was a 0.2 negative tide the day we arrived). We asked to change slips but was told the whole marina is like that at negative low tide. We would love to return but most likely will not until the marina is dredged out. Otherwise a great place!

Great expe4rience, Preston was super communicative with us, met us at the dock, help tie up. The marina is super clean, and a fabulous location with multiple eateries on site and super convenient to all the hotels on the beach.

This is one of the best Marinas we have stayed, fabulous and friendly staff. Great location, facilities and restaurants. Only negative is low tide it does get shallow.

The Best. We brought our boat down from Annapolis MD. for the winter. We came 5 times over winter and on the third time when I got there I said "I'm Home". All of the staff are 5 star service. They treated us like family and aways asked what more they could do. Harbour Master Mason and Dock Master Preston are outstanding in service. The entire Marina community including all stores and restaurants, along with all the grounds and walking paths are fantastic to enjoy. We are coming back this fall to stay again for the winter.

We truly enjoyed our stay. There’s so much to see and do nearby, plus the island is super easy to get around in. Couple that with a great facility, extensive amenities and folks really wanting to help you out, and you got a top tiered marina. Thanks for a terrific stay; we’ll be back.

Great staff and wonderful location. Staff went out of their way to help us. Once I left my wallet on the boat and they mailed it back to me overnight mail and one other time we had contractors on the boat and a small electrical issue occured and they came over, fixed it, and checked everything in the boat to make sure all was well. They went above and beyond. Tons of walking and biking paths and several restaurants on site and even more close by. Easy bike ride.to the beach. Reasonable rates for location. The only downside is the depths; at low tide you need to turn your AC off as the water is too shallow to run. I do hear that a dredge project is scheduled for 10/26-2/27 so this will likely be improved. We would stay again!

Shelter Cove is our favorite quick getaway destination. The staff is first rate and the dock hands are excellent. The fairways can be a bit tight to negotiate but there’s practically zero wind and current in the basin. Can’t beat the access to a variety of good restaurants on property. To top it off, have a warm croissant and coffee from Hilton Head Social Bakery before departure!

Docks are nice floating aluminum docks in a very sheltered harbor! Staff are super friendly and helpful. Very attractive location with access to lots to do. Only reasons for less than 5 - low tides we bottomed out in the slip (as did others) and for half the marina ots a LOOOOONG walk to the showers and laundry - but the free bikes helped! Also, car access for loading or unloading was a pain.

Wonderful place to sty on Hilton Head Island. The Staff and the Harbor Master are very nice and accommodating.

Excellent location (protected from wind and current) with great options for restaurants, central to HHI. Docks in good condition, surroundings pleasant, good walking and biking. Our only negative is the water depth. At low tide there is very little water below the keel, constant mud churned up by props and ingested by engines. Avoid low tide coming and going if possible. Marina reported they hope to have the basin dredged in 2026.

Great place to stay! Staff are all very friendly and accommodating. Several good restaurants and bars right in the marina, and many more nearby. Groceries, beaches, charter services. airport, car rental, etc. are all close and very convenient.

The Marina is nice with great restaurants and shopping. If you need fuel, make sure that you call ahead for permission and don't get out of your boat at the fuel dock or the dock Nazi will get you!

Beautiful marina with all the amenities! Only negative is that the security team cuts all bike locks over night without warning. Several cut that were marina slip owners. Really was a negative experience

Best marina on the water. Was parked here long term. Everyone was great from day one. If needing long term lease in the future they will be my first choice. Can't beat the service and help they are willing to give. Thanks again Shelter Cove!!

Set just off the Intracoastal Waterway, overlooking the wide reaches of Broad Creek, picturesque Shelter Cove Marina is a 15.5-acre Hilton Head Island marina with 178 boat slips for boats up to 145 feet in length.

You can find us at GPS coordinates 32. 10’ 52”N 80. 43’ 56”W where our entrance channel is between red marker 22 and green marker 23.
