This is a do-it-yourself dock in front of the Westin Hotel on the Savannah River. Not a marina. No one to answer VJF calls. Figure out how to hook up to the electricity. Exposed to waves from boat and ship traffic. BUT, it is only a short walk to the Belles Ferry going across to downtown Savannah. We slept comfortably enough on our Cape Dory 28. If you don't plan to take the free ferry across to downtown restaurants and tours, consider staying next door at IGY Savannah Harbor Marina, a full service marina with slips off the river.

Not worth the price for dock space here. First issue we had was trying to confirm reservation, we booked through Dockwa. The Westin never confirmed our reservation for over 24hrs. I then had to call and I was told by Westin staff that I had to contact Dockwa. I contacted Dockwa and they confirmed that was incorrect and Westin must confirm. I called back again and they finally confirmed our reservation. Once we arrived they have no dock hands to help with lines (not a big issue) however the water on the dock was broken and we had to go in and speak to front desk and then wait for maintenance to fix it so we could rinse off boat. The charge was $175 for the slip and the boat gets beat up on outside pier with no protection from tug boats, and cargo ships going by all night. We are Titanium members with Marriott and felt the whole experience here was disappointing.

The cost was ridiculous. The dock bumper was falling off. With those prices we expect excellent condition of your dock. Robbing people for parking and using your facility.

We were a group of 12 Seadoo jet skis. The inside portion of the dock where we had to moor our skies is in bad condition. Wood 2x4s meant to protect the skis from large exposed bolts were missing on 1/2 of one side. Big screws were sticking out as well that were supposed to hold electrical conduit brackets that were torn loose from them. So one whole interior side of the dock was useless for docking. 1/2 of the aluminum hand rail on one side was busted off and leaning against the remaining rail making it very hard to tie off and dangerous. The code to lock the gates did not work, it didn’t need to as the gate was so loose and the only way to open it was to simply lift up on it. Therefore there was no security for our skis. The cost was $289.per 2 Seadoos for 2 nights. This was way too much to pay for the condition of the docks.

The harbor area was a very small. Only room for 3 - 4 small boats on the inside of the dock from the River. Wake from the river can be quite strong. Had to call ahead for assistance helping w bags into the Westin. No dock hands are available. Location is ideal right behind the hotel. Perfect spot earns 5 stars

Excellent location with beautiful pool overlooking the city. As others have said there are wakes as passing boats and ships go by. Docks are very low so be prepared to use a lot of fenders.

Have plenty of fenders out. The electric and water was available as stated. When asked if we could get some ice. We were told NO “you are not guests at the hotel. We paid the regular $3.00 per foot charge in addition to $37.50 per day resort fee (which was supposed to allow us to use the hotel amenities). Staff does not seem to know that they have a dock or how to handle inquiries. We would not stay here again.

Nice facility. Great view of down town. Free all Wx water taxi steps away. No Dockmaster so slips are a bit unregulated. I was in a 100' yacht so nervous to go for a cruise and come back and find a small boat in middle of my spot.

Overall we were pleased with our stay. We did have a couple issues but the staff were very responsive. Do to the nature of a face dock on the busy river, be ready for wakes, which did calm down over night. We did call ahead for docking help and they sent a wonderful hotel engineer who did his best (not familiar with docking and lines so be ready to instruct) and happily followed our docking instructions. Wifi was initially problematic which I believe was due to massive party on the outside hotel deck attenuating the signal. After the party the wifi was fair to good.

Nice resort hotel. Dock was in poorer condition. Got rocked hard by the free ferry every 20-30 minutes during the day. Rocked harder by the tugs and towboats going by all night. Interestingly the huge cargo ships did not wake us. Overall it was ok a bit pricey but we utilized the golf course and spa so that’s why we ranked it fair.

The nicest Marriott I've stayed. I've been to a bunch of Marriotts, this one is was the best of them all. Clean, friendly, pool open and clean, lots of fireplaces, S''mores at the front desk. We don't have children, but there was suff for kids. we saw bingo and games to keep them busy. 6 stars!

We were having electrical issues on their power post. 205V instead of 220v except for the main power post which had good 220 but 1 of the 2, 50a receptacles was worn out and had 1 pin inside the female receptacle misaligned so not working (couldn’t plug into it)
Dock people were very helpful and will report it to their electrician to check out.

A little rocky with the boat traffic but all in all the best spot to see the city, ferry service next door and great accommodations at the resort. Would stay here again.

It's a great spot, we've come several times. We prefer it to the downtown docks, the free ferry is right here, runs often, and we can be away from the bustle of River St. The pool is great, food, bar, all good.
Like all docking on this river, there are lots of container ships passing 24x7, plus workboats, ferries, etc., so it can get quite rocky. Bring lots of fenders and lines.

The resort is fantastic. The amenities are also great. The engineering department helped us tie up very nice. The taxi to downtown is very convenient. We will come back.
