However, I didn't stay on your moorings - I stayed on the Town morings, not realizing there was a difference, so technically you owe the Harbormaster $50.

Be advised you will not be given an assigned mooring, you just take any available.

RESOLVE had a great second stay on our way home. It was fully booked on a Saturday night and the outer moorings master was politely checking reservations and asking boats to move if they were not properly booked.

Good spot in the outer harbor

Easy to pick up the mooring. Nice dinghy ride into the dock. Fabulous fresh oysters delivered to the boat freshly shucked. What could be better?

My wife and I have been utilizing Dockwa for several seasons now, generally with good experiences. However, our recent stay at Cuttyhunk Outer Moorings was not great. After our first night (July 24), conditions on the outside were rather rocky which made it difficult to get our dog and ourselves from boat to shore, so we moved into the inner harbor (for more money by the way) the following morning. Attempts to secure a credit for the 25th and 26th of July in these circumstances were rebuffed, which was greatly disappointing in the circumstances.

Perfect spot for an evening stay. Good distance apart, no issues! Thank you,
Anne

We had a disappointing experience with these moorings. They are located outside the harbor and fully exposed to north winds, which is not clearly disclosed on the Dockwa site. When we arrived, it was blowing 15 knots out of the north, with 2+ foot seas running through the mooring field. This made it completely unsafe for our 30' boat to stay overnight.
I reached out to the owner, hoping for some understanding or flexibility, but was met with a dismissive response. I was told there was "full transparency" on the site and that no refund would be offered. So, we ended up losing $100 for something that was not suitable for our needs.
Additionally, the 7-day cancellation policy is unreasonable. You never know what the weather will be like that far in advance, so it's a real gamble booking here. Definitely not a safe or customer-friendly experience. I would not recommend this place.

We ended up in the wrong mooring field and had to pay twice because of the confusion!

The mooring had a pole sticking straight up very difficult to attach without damage to the boat and it's anchor. Suggest you replace with chain coming up the middle of the mooring ball with a large eye on a swivel

Very disappointed. Thought we made reservation for inside the harbor for mooring and not a dock. Request made about 1hour before arrival. Picked up mooring and was told by harbor master that they aren’t affiliated with Dockwa and directed to shack where the man basically said tough sh$t not refunding as they have 7 day cancellation requirement. So beware that Cutty Outer Mooring is ocean side and person running that show is a money grabber. Not to mention that on Dockwa the mooring is priced at $40 and I was charged $50!
Marina Response:
Hi Meg
Sorry to hear that you picked up the wrong mooring. Our mooring balls are clearly marked with DOCKWA RENTAL and the map shows us to be located in the outer harbor. We are a multi generational family who have working tirelessly to keep Cuttyhunk alive and flourishing for all to enjoy. We hope you enjoy the remainder of your summer, be well.

Love Cuttyhunk. Mooring was fine

Great mooring field outside the inner harbor in Cuttyhunk. Quiet and only a short dinghy ride to the docks.

Be aware that these moorings are in the outer harbor, not inside the Cuttyhunk pond, close to town!
Inside moorings are managed by the town of Gosnold and they are NOT in Dockwa! They are in a first come, first serve basis, but there are plenty! Unless you are coming during a major holiday, there should be no problem in getting one.
In the rare situation that you cannot get a morning inside the pond, you can easily anchor outside, where these outer moorings are; I don't see any reason to pay for them. Don't waste your money!
Marina Response:
Hello Fabio
Thank you for the review. I am sorry to hear that you felt “mislead” by the Cuttyhunk ‘Outer’ Moorings title. We placed our moorings on DOCKWA for guests who like to be prepared. Our moorings are also cost effective for those looking to save a few dollars, we are $50, the town moorings are $60 and carry a $5 trash fee (per day). There is anchorage available in the outer harbor as well as inside the harbor for those who prefer to do so. Cuttyhunk Outer Moorings is a family run business and we appreciate your feedback, enjoy the remainder of your vacation.

Cuttyhunk is one of our favorite places to go, so close to home and we love staying on the outside where we feel like is is a bit quieter.

Great way to enjoy Cuttyhunk. Moorings easy to find and team was super helpful. No launch so you will need a tender to get into town.
